As we have progressed through the STARS programme, we wanted our students to gain skills and confidence to lead their peers and influence parents in tackling travel issues in our school community. We therefore signed up 11 of our students from all year groups to the STARS Challenge. Whilst participating in the challenge we have raised awareness of the benefits of Active Travel and increased road safety awareness through a range of assemblies, form time sessions, and school competitions such as the road safety obstacle course. Our students who signed up to the challenge have all commented on how much they have enjoyed taking a lead in this challenge and we now plan to evidence their skills for the Student Leadership Accreditation.
