Health benefits of active travel
Ada Lovelace Church of England High School
London Borough of Ealing
Our story
In order to increase the amount of active travel within our school community we wanted our students to be aware of the health benefits of active travel. Therefore, we put together an assembly focusing on the health benefits of active travel which was presented by our TFL Student leaders. In this assembly, students discussed the health and well-being benefits of active travel such as how Active Travel releases endorphins reducing stress and tiredness. As a result, we have now noticed that more students are discussing their routes to school and walking in with each other. We also saw from a survey we recently carried out that more students prefer to walk or cycle to school.
