About this activity

Suitable for all schools and nurseries.

NB: We’re bringing together all the TfL education programmes, including STARS, under one exciting new umbrella programme called TfL Travel for Life. They will be the same great programmes, but with a new name and a new look, easier online process and dedicated support team. STARS for primary schools will be renamed TfL Explorers. STARS for secondary schools will be renamed TfL Pioneers.

We know that your schools and nurseries are creative places and your pupils, staff and communities are bursting with ideas of how to get young London moving!

This is your chance to share your school’s own competition idea, different to anything else already listed on the TfL Travelf or Life website.

Did you run a road safety badge competition? Could you ask your pupils to design a social media campaign to highlight the importance of active travel online?

Thanks to a pupil at Immanual and St Andrews school for providing the image for this activity card.

This activity supports the Vision Zero target to eliminate death and serious injuries on London’s streets.

Activity steps

Which travel issue or behaviour are you trying to resolve or change? Discuss your ideas with your head teacher and borough officer
2
Work together

4
Check for success
What impact has your competition had on the school community’s travel habits? Record people’s feedback and note your observations
5
Tell your story
Sign in to TfL Travel for Life to add your story and include pupils’ feedback. Explain the activity and add photos and any posters or promotional materials. Feedback to your borough officer
