Brake's Kids Walk

About this activity

Suitable for primary schools.

NB: We’re bringing together all the TfL education programmes, including STARS, under one exciting new umbrella programme called TfL Travel for Life. They will be the same great programmes, but with a new name and a new look, easier online process and dedicated support team. STARS for primary schools will be renamed TfL Explorers. STARS for secondary schools will be renamed TfL Pioneers.

Brake's Kids Walk is an annual nationwide walking event that takes place in June (2023 date yet to be confirmed) and aims to increase awareness of road safety and the benefits of walking.

A day where thousands of children across the country will put their best feet forward to take part in Brake’s Kids Walk. The walk, co-ordinated by Brake, the road safety charity and sponsored by Coop Insurance, promotes road safety and the health and planet-saving benefits of walking whilst getting the children to raise awareness of important road safety messages in their community:

  • Foot paths
  • Cycle Paths
  • Safe places to cross the road
  • Slow traffic
  • Clean air

Educators can register to receive their free action pack full of posters, lesson plans and activities to help their school get involved.

For more information visit brake.org.uk/kidswalk or email [email protected]

Work with your TfL Explorers Ambassadors and/or your school travel working group to plan the walk.
