Each class has a Weekend Walkies dog to take home on a Friday and return on a Monday. In a staff meeting I introduced the idea to all the teachers so they knew what was happening and explained that this isn't a reward, it's an initiative for all the children so every child gets to take the dog home throughout the year. Books were given with each dog for the children to record, in any way they like, where they took the dog for a walk. It was explained it's about taking the dog outside for exercise.

A Studybugs message was sent out to all the parents so they knew what was happening and that it was an initiative to encourage a healthy lifestyle.
