Pupils took part in a HGV ‘exchanging places’ road safety awareness workshop with JB Riney social value team, the L B Waltham Forest’s highways maintenance contractor.  Pupils learned about HGVs’ blind spots, being safe around heavy goods vehicles and choosing a safe place to cross. Pupils also had the opportunity to sit in the driver’s seat and understand the blind spots for themselves.

EVIDENCE NOTE - The event was delivered by London Borough of Waltham Forest Council Active Travel Team and due to there being several schools in attendance the photographer only captured images of some schools, we have included a plan of the day for evidence and an image of another school participating however our attendance can be verified by the borough.
