Once receiving the packs, they were distributed to both nursery classes, morning and full time. Before handing them out, each teacher shared the packs with the children, looking at the stories and the stickers in the hope this would encourage them to share this with their families.

The following week, many of the parents in the nursery spoke to the adults about how they had shared the stories and spoke to their child about road safety using the book and stickers as a teaching aid. 

We have used spare copies in the nursery during free flow to talk about how to be safe when crossing roads, using small world people to help visualise and role play. The additional copies are kept in a basket of books that are accessible to the children throughout the session. The children often look through this in the reading area.
