To celebrate the PE leads 50th birthday we decided to take the children out for a whole school Conga - every child from Reception to Year 6 participated, including our year 5 child in a wheelchair. Every member of staff came outside, including SLT, premises, teachers and TAs, offices etc. Everyone enjoyed the session as we travelled around the exterior of the school singing and dancing. Many children had never completed the conga and were surprised at how tired they felt afterwards. Classes discussed the way they had travelled around the school and how this was different to how they had travelled to school. After the event we agreed that taking the children out of the classroom was vital to their learning and are looking into whether we can relaunch the daily mile.
