Each pupil in year 2 got to take the bear (Eddy) home for the day and wrote a short piece on the worksheet 'on my way to school i saw...' Some pupils had the bear for the weekend and it went on trips into \London with them .Once the class had all taken Eddy home the book was displayed in the reception area. After the success of being in year 2 Eddy moved to year 1. This really helped fit in with our school focus on inproving writing.
