Walk to School Week May 2018

Beaumont Primary School
London Borough of Croydon

Our story

Thanks to the Living Streets KS1 and KS2 Walk to School packs supplied via the Local Authority, each Class Teacher planned a series of activities to celebrate Walk to School Week. Posters were put up around school. Each pupil took home a leaflet about the week's promotion and classes took part in a poster competition. All participating pupils were awarded with a pack of sunflower seeds to take home and plant. Pupils also took home leaflets compiled from information downloaded from the Living Streets website encouraging families to walk to school at least once during the week and to understand the benefits of walking - more people walking means fewer cars on the roads, helps pupils arrive at school wide awake & ready to learn, & helps whole families to build healthy family habits for life. JTAs are looking to celebrate increased numbers on the WOW Travel Tracker during Walk to School Week.
