Throughout the academic year, our special needs pupils are supported in developing Independent Travel Skills.

These are built into the curriculum in shopping trips and visits to the local leisure centre (Thornton Heath) through to specific 1-1 sessions with Croydon's Travel Training.

The option of teaching independent travel is raised in every annual review and pupils are supported to travel as independently as possible.

This may mean that they do not learn to travel completely independently but they will atleast be able to cope with travelling on public transport.

We also regularly use public transport for trips into London.
