we promoted walk to school week  by sending out a flyer, advertising on our notice board. Magda was leading on this and said that she had spoken to all the parents about walking to school and that only a handful of parents actually drove because they lived further a field from the nursery and would not be able to walk. She encouraged them to park and stride, which a few said they would try to do so depending on finding a parking space because they do not have a permit to park in this area. staff also asked the children at register time ' how they came to nursery?' each morning and afternoon - children said that they had walked. we had about 100 children walking all week out of 108 children. Magda kept a tick list using the keyworker list to monitor this.
