We talked about why it is very important to be holding hands with grown ups when crossing the road. we did a quick recap on the other activities we have been doing linked to road safety and most of the children were able to recall the importance of staying safe when crossing the road. As a group we decided that we would make hand prints on paper to show us holding hands. one of the children said we could take a picture of us holding hands and pretending to cross the road - which we did. the children enjoyed painting their hands and creating hand prints. they worked in pairs encouraged each other to place their hands close to each other. comments made by some children 'we are holding hands and waiting for the cars to stop' 'hold my hand and wait for me ' 'we cant cross yet the green man is not on yet, red man says stop and green man says go.'
