As part of our World Book Day activities we introduced children to a selection of books that promoted active and sustainable travel.  This activity generated a lot of conversation amongst children about different ways to travel, how to keep healthy and how to be safe.  We used the following books:I Went Walking by Sue Williams and Julie Vivas, The Smartest Giant in Town by Julia Donaldson, Scoot by Jim Smith, Bear on a Bike by Stella Blackstone, On the Way Home by Jill Murphy, The Scooter by Judy Brown, We're Going on a Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen, We're Going on a Lion Hunt by David Axtell.The children particularly enjoyed 'The Scooter' by Judy Brown Here are some of their comments;  'I used to not wear my helmet but now I do' - Dylan aged 4.  'That is safe, holding on and wearing a helmet' - Zoe aged 4.  'He is walking' - Prubhleen aged 4.
