STP wanted to get children's ideas how to make sure 10 day Active Travel Challenge more successfsul than the last whole school event Sustran's Big Walk and Wheel challenge.  As we do not have JTAs STP decided to meet with the school's eco team at lunchtime on the first day of 10 day challenge.  It was a very useful meeting , the children pointed out not all school could do 10 days as Year 6 would be on their residential for the last week.  They also suggested that a prize for each child of the winning class would be a good idea.  It was agreed to give healthy fruit ice lollies as the prize and let year 6 have a mini 5 day challenge.  The STP informed class teachers about the prize and teachers told their classes and put it on google classroom.  It was successful with a total of 3,745 active journeys which was higher than the Sustran's results.  STP will use this idea next year.<
