In preparation for Road Safety week, I planned and led two assemblies.  One for KS2 and one for KS1.  

For the KS2 assembly, I showed them the powerpoint for primary schools  from the website: www.brake.org/RoadSafety Week.   We watched a video about vehicles and speeds and linked this to their own experience of Road safety.  

For the KS1 assembly, I used the 'Think Website' video 'Safer Roads Anthem . ' and we discussed the greencross code.  

Activities were followed up by classes over the course of 2 weeks with children giaing a deeper understanding of what they need to do to keep safe when using the roads.
