Due to the fact that we were receiving comments about how dangerous the parking outside of the school was from the parents the school decided to set up a Junior Traffic Warden scheme. This involved four prefects, along with a member of staff standing outside of the school each morning and evening at drop off and pick up time. When the children noticed a car that was either parkig where it shouldn't or turning in the area directly outside of the school they read out a script that asked the driver to refrain from doing such a thing again.The prefects kept a tally of how many cars were parking or turning illegally and they noticed a significant improvement after just 2 weeks. We received many positive comments from the parents who walk to school saying how much safer thay felt with the reduced number of cars parking outside of the school gates.
