Walk to the park using public footpaths
Blair Peach Primary School
London Borough of Ealing
Our story
This idea of a walk to the local park along a footpath came from the Brake's Walk. It was decided that not enough children used or even knew about the canal path that runs behind the back of the school. So a walk was organised to show the children that thay didn't always have to use the roads whenever they went anywhere. Throughout the day the whole school walked along the canal with their teachers. The children had a really nice time and many of them said that they would ask their parents to take them to the park using this route again as there was so much to see along the way. Swans, herons, ducks, grebes, coots and moorhens were all spotted.
