Many parents reported that some of the children were riding their bikes in a very unsafe way into school and on the school premises. The travel team went to work to think of some solutions. They decided to a) issue a licence to all children wishing to cycle/scoot to school where they promised to cycle/scoot safely and to dismount and push their bikes/scooters while on the school premises, b) to make cycle safety the main priority for the Travel Plan for this year and c) to target certain year groups. Each day now, in the morning and evening some of the prefects stand at the gates to remind students to push their bikes/scooters. They have reported that after the first week they rarely have to remind any of the students. A great success!
