The Travel Team were anxious to raise their profile in the school and wanted to seek suggestions from the other pupils about how they could raise awareness and participation in active travel. After a suggestion from the Burrough they decided to hold assemblies as and when they felt it necessary as another way to get everyone involved. In the first assembly they introduced themselves, told how they would be serving the school community and said how they would like the whole school to suggest ideas for promoting active and sustainable travel. The feedback from the JTAs after the first assembly was that the children would like lots of competitions that they could be involved in with prizes on offer. Now, everytime that we hold a travel event we try to tie it in with a competition so that the whole school can feel involved. The JTAs have reported that the other pupils are really happy with this and that it generates a lot of talk about travel.
