Walk to School Week - October 2018

Blair Peach Primary School
London Borough of Ealing

Our story

The Travel Team decided to take up the Walk to School Week challenge in the hope that they would get more children walking, cycling and scooting to school. The JTAs put up posters, told the pupils about the upcoming event in assembly, and delivered the bookmarks, stickers and tally sheets to all the classes. An email was also sent to the teachers telling them how to run the week. The travel team also decided that to encourage the students to get active we would run a competition. The class with the most active journeys to school would win extra play at the end of the fortnight. It was a closely fought competition with most classes achieving an 80% active journey rate. The winning class was informed and they received their extra playtime.
