We needed an incentive to encourage students to walk to school. To carry this out successfully we needed a compeition to carry out between students, rewarding those with the highest amount of steps. We set up an interform step count competition in order to encourage students to walk to school and for our STARS ambassadors to be able to monitor students steps. As a result of this a winner in each form was indentified. The competition worked by promoting enjoyment in walking to school therefore increasing the amount of students travelling actively.
