Our story
S As part of the Year 9 Health and Well-Being Enrichment Day in June we included a session on healthy eating. Students were informed on how to lead a healthier life but also to understand the food choices they are making can affect their health.
T Some of the slides in the presentation show how much sugar is in some of the foods they consume but also how much time is needed to walk this sugar off. Students then had to make their own calculations on sugar and walking times.
A The students made these calculations and were made to see the connection between sugar consumption and exercise. Also how active they had to be to work it off.
R They were made aware of sugar and walking times. Some were also persuaded to change their eating and walking habits.
