2021 Science weeks themes was ‘Innovation – the future’.  Students within a KS4 class decided that it would be interesting to look at how they may improve traffic lights in accordance to changes of lifestyle highlighted by the Riot acts theatre production ‘Deadly Distraction’ (consistent wearing of headphones, looking at mobile phones etc.)   Students researched different traffic light systems globally and looked at research done by pioneering companies, universities around the matter.  They looked at the local areas of surveyed the benefits of the traffic lights systems there.  Students learn about road safety and had a better understanding of safer crossings.
