We wanted to do Road Safety Club with our nursery children, but we couldn't get enough to bring socks in to make the puppets. We adapted the idea and did Road Safety work around the Travel topic in nursery. They used 'Red Lorry, Yellow Lorry' and 'Naughty Bus' as their books of the week and wove Road safety activities and talking into it. The children acted out road scenarios on the large track/road in the playground on their vehicles. They also played on the carpet forming scenarios with traffic and talking about safe ways to cross the road.
