Our story

At school, the JTAS and I have joined forces with the School Council and the Eco Warriors to ensure that safer, more efficient transportation is at the top of our priority list. This week, we met for the first time to make sure we have a plan in place for when we return in September. The kids were asked to think about the safety of the local road and how we could make it safer for kids to walk, scoot, or cycle to school. The children noticed that there were a lot of cars parked on the road, making it unsafe to cross, and that there were a lot of cars using the road. We then talked about how we could make it safer. We then talked about how we could make active travel safer for everyone. The kids had a lot of great ideas for how to spread the word about transport and decrease the number of cars near school. We've planned to gather some statements and details about pollution, road safety, and the advantages of active travel from the classes.
