The JTA team designed posters to encourage staff and children to walk or cycle to school. The posters were displayed around the school and on windows so waiting parents and chidren would be able to see the posters. We explained the benefits of walking and how it could be even more fun if you count your steps. We want children, staff and parents to consider walking as their main way of getting around and not just for a few concentrated days. We intended to keep the posters and reminders on display and hopefully it will encourage more people to walk. It has been fun asking children to count their steps and a few children and staff have used their fitbit watches to keep track. I look forward to all children and staff being fitter and helping to improve the quality of the air by reducing the use of cars.
