Walking trips
Our story
Over the course of the year, the whole school has been involved in some or all of the following walking trips.During Book Week 28th Feb, all children walked from school to Ham Library. Children in Year 5 were given maps of the local area and were tasked with finding an alternative route back to school. Across the year, children in Years 5 and 6 attend swimming lessons at Teddington Lock. Every Friday the class, staff team, and parent helpers walk from Ham to Teddington passing over Teddington Lock on their way. Year 1 as part of their history unit on the History of Ham, went on a local walk - talking in the sights of their locality. Please see the evidence. Alongside this walk, they also compared Ham to London by listening to local residents talk about where they live, and they then created their own map of Ham following their walk.
