Last year before the pandemic, we worked with the Local Authority and TfL Schools Advisor to activate School Street at St. Stephen's. Children were queuing outside the school due to staggered start times and social distancing and it was more important than ever that cars were not speeding in the area by our school gates. We confirmed the location and held several meetings with our local councillors. From September 2020, we informed all our parents of the new restrictions. We featured it in our newsletter and sent an email to directly to our school community. Our caretaker was charged with cordoning off the road and ensuring that any cars that tried to enter were turned away.We conducted our Survey in October that showed how many children were walking and scootering into school. In November, we distributed a video to all the Google Classrooms as we were unable to deliver a school assembly.In March, the official sign was unveiled.
