Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 were very lucky to have scooter training from 19th to 22nd March. Lorraine and Alan from the London Borough of Suttonand Kingston's ’s Sustainable Transport Team delivered the training sessions.The boys learned how to use the brake efficiently and in some cases how to do an emergency stop.  They practised gliding smoothly and stopping precisely.They now know that they should dismount from their bikes and cross by walking safely when the road is clear.The words “Excuse me please,” and “Thank you,” were rehearsed loudly so that pedestrians would be aware of oncoming scooters. The boys are now pavement ready and with the Summer term fast approaching, we are promoting scooting to school once a week as a travel option . Instead of ‘Park and Stride,’we are hoping our pupils will ‘Park and Scoot.’
