At Alec Reed Academy, we want to become a more active aware school. This is where we are making healthier and more environmentally friendly choices on our journey to school, whether that is walking, scooting, cycling etc.

We decided to run a competition, where children could win some cool prizes, such as a scooter, reflectors to go on your bike or bag, a step tracker. There will be more than one winner! The objective was for both parent and child  to walk to school and then think about their journey. They then would write an acrostic poem about the benefits of walking to school 

After the children walked, scooted, cycled to school they wrote their poems all about their active journey to school.
