Staff were invited to take part in a staff carpooling list/rota where staff members would meet regularly on an agreed basis and would share a car instead of driving cars seperately. We felt that this would be possible for some staff members who lived particularly close. We currently have 4 staff members who participate in the carpooling scheme with a few considering alternative ways to be involved such as using public transport for part of their journey before meeting another teacher in a neighbouring town. Those involved have been positive about the experience and it has saved them money on petrol as well as being better for the environment with less cars on the road.
