Our story

On Wednesday 31st January members of the Youth Travel Ambassadors presented a Pedestrian Road Safety assembly to 600 key stage 3 students.  They informed the students the dangers and consequences of not concentrating whilst crossing Upminster’s busy roads. Also informed those of a Road Safety design Competition that we would like them to take part in. The last part of the assembly was a texting obstacle challenge, between a staff member & student, again highlighting to the cohort the potential issues and dangers playing, listening with your phone whilst crossing the road. On Friday 27th February 2020 we received 103 entries from students. A week later we announced our competition winners who will be entered into the London wide Pedestrian Road Safety Competition. All entries received a house point, winners received Lakeside shopping vouchers.
