After school, 16 TFL STARS Ambassadors participated in the road safety obstacle course. This was an experiment to investigate the impacts of using a mobile phone device on spatial awareness and concentration. The students noted that there was a marked disparity between the time it took to complete the obstacle course, and the number of penalties they incurred, in normal conditions and when they were using their mobile phones. When reflecting on the experiment, they demonstrated an improved awareness of the need for better vigilance and attention when travelling around the city. They are planning on delivering a similar activity to their peers.
