STA - Year 5 students look at the ways that bikes work with the use of gears, linking it with they already knew about pulleys, gears and levers. At firt, they found hard to make connections between their prior learning at the one taking place in class, then they were able to make links thanks to practical activities; this has allowed them to be able to draw a diagram to show which gear is appropriate to use when going uphill and downhill

R - Students were enthusiastic as they were able to apply what previously studied regarding pulleys, gears and levels to a correct use of bikes when going uphill and downhill.
