Personal safety promotion - Network Rail
Harris Primary Academy Kenley
London Borough of Croydon
Our story
On Monday, the children were given a whole school assembly by representatives from Network Rail.
This was led by a community safety manager from Safe and Smart in partnership with the British Transport Police. She spoke to the children about safety in the stations and the importance of staying behind the yellow line. She emphasised how dangerous the electric lines are and gave the children some statistics about stopping distance that shocked them all.
The children were told who the safe, authorised adults are at the station and how they can tell (lanyard, jacket, badeges, names etc).
