Travelling By Bus
Drapers' Brookside Junior School
London Borough of Havering
Our story
After consulting with year 5 and 6 children, it was noted that some children, although confident in catching the correct bus, were unsure of what happens when a journey goes wrong, for example, when a bus terminates at the different stop.
With this in mind, travelling by public transport will be discussed in classes and various scenarios covered. It was also suggested that children travel to prearranged destinations, e.g. their new secondary school, in groups, independently but with an adult travelling separately incase help/guidance is needed.
These sessions will also include how to apply for an oystercard and how to behave when travelling on public transport.
