Year 5 had a circle time discussion about road safety and about how to be safe when travelling independently. We spoke about transitioning into secondary school and thought of ideas for some activites and practise that they could do in Year 6 to prepare for this next step. Some ideas from the children were: walking to a local park or shops with their adult following at a distance behind, walking to the end of the road to post a letter or visit a close by shop independently, use the TfL website to check bus routes to local secondary schools from the children's homes.
