The school participated in the 15th year celebration of Sustrans Big Walk and Wheel, the UK’s largest inter-school cycling, walking, wheeling and scooting challenge. The aim is for as many children as possible to have an active journey. The challenge runs from 11-22 March 2024. All families were informed that an active journey to school is a great way to build physical activity in children’s daily routine, which in turn is important for their physical health and mental wellbeing. It was a huge success and Deer Park finished an excellent 27th overall, out of the hundreds of primary schools taking part in the programme. Congratulations to Fawn Class for being the most sustainable travellers from our twelve classes overall.
