The Co-operative supermarket chain opened a new store in Romford town centre on Thursday 15 December 2016 and asked for a handful of children from Concordia Academy to join them for their store opening. This was a great opportunity for the children of Concordia Academy to get involved in an exciting event and raise awareness in the local area of our brand new school. The Romford Recorder took pictures of the store opening, including our children, for publication in their newspaper the following Thursday.

To ensure fairness, we selected children’s names from a hat. The children and staff walked from Union Road in Romford all the way to the Co-Op for the ceremony.
