Road safety talks

Our story

After a period of lockdown in the Spring term, all of our students were able to return to school on 8th March.

Improving road safety and increasing active travel to school was particularly important with a public health message discouraging people from using public transport.

Also the crossing on the A406 was still not actioned by TfL.

We thought we should do our part to keep our students safe on their return to school. We decided to revise road safety with our Year 7 students in tutor times (7 different classes) using the first session of The Riot Act resources provided by the STARS co-ordinator.

The sessions went well and gave rise to a number of conversations which were beneficial on a pastoral level as well as giving our students confidence to travel to school safely.
