Bike maintenance skills
Our story
We wanted to provide opportunity for our students to learn some bike maintenance skills. We felt that this was better to teach them how to maintain their bike rather than getting someone in school to do this for them.
We advertised this to all students but prioritised those who regularly cycle to school and had two groups of 10 students signed up for the activity with a waitiing list of 10 more.
The activity was run by Ealing Bike Hub who came into school on Friday 11th March and Friday 18th March to deliver the workshops. Students brought in their own bikes to work on.
The images attached show some of the students involved in the workshops. They really enjoyed the experience and they have become more confident in their knowledge and understanding of their own bikes and how to maintain them, and in turn, this should encourage them to continue to use their bike as their primary mode of transport.
