As our students become aware of the different ways to travel more actively and road safety we wanted to encourage them not to just be aware but to be involved.

To do this we wanted to promote Active travel week within our school where students would be able to think about the way they travel to school.

We therefore held an assembly for every year group where we encouraged students to ‘Drop a Stop’ or ‘Park and Stride’, inspiring them to walk for part of their journey. We also promoted an active travel map, which is being developed with Ealing Council, to act as a guide for students showing them to best routes to get to school.

We have now had students discussing their route to school with us, showing their interest in active travel and have noticed less cars outside the school in the mornings.
