To create more meaningful & engaging travel activities, we have involved our pupils as much as possible with the planning and creation of activities. So far, our students have helped to plan and conduct an “Eco Active Form” competition, written an article for the school magazine, and were involved in selecting the winners for the Road Safety Comic strip competition. Most recently, we have been acting on feedback from last year’s student survey, which highlighted the want for more walking activities. We have asked students how we could navigate this around the challenge not having phones in school to count steps. They are currently planning a “get walking competition” and looking to update the school’s walking zone map. We have so far seen that the approach of by students for students has increased uptake and interest in activities and we hope that this will continue throughout the year.
