Around this time last year, we conducted a staff survey on how our staff body commute to the school site. Due to lots of new members of staff this year, we thought it would be useful to carry out another survey not only to see how impactful our activities last year may have been, but also to again inform the activities we could carry out this year. The survey found that most of our staff are using an active mode of travel and this figure is up by 2.5% compared to this time last year. It was also interesting to see that only 11% of staff cycle to school. Last year we placed a big focus on encouraging students to cycle, so this year, something we could work on is encouraging our staff members to cycle more by creating an a wider active travel zones map for staff.
