Dr Bike bicycle safety check & repair session provided by Lewisham Council Road Safety Team on - 6th January 2023

Children and staff brought their bikes in to the school for a mechanic to check and repair the bikes to make bikes safe and in roadworthy condition. Dr Bike remained at the school for the whole day repairing 14 bikes of which only 3 out of 14 had working brakes, along with other issues. At the end of the day all bar one bike which required specialist repair left the school in roadworthy condition.

Dr Bike was booked to encourage children that are able to travel alone, already cycle or are about to participate in Bikeability Level 1 & 2 to use their bike as active transport to and from school with their parent/Guardians permission. The safety check was also offered to all school staff to encourage active travel.
