We use World Environment Day to link to the science aspects of our curriculum. We link this to human and plant biology and how they are linked to our environment and how we treat our planet. We teach the pupils about the small changes they can make to support our planet and how this will directly link to their health and why this is so important throughout their lives. We be asking our students to take part in World Bicycle Day (promoted by the UN) and ask families to send in photos to add to pupils’ social stories and our promotion boards/website of the whole family using cycle transport for the week. In the future we will link this to our share, swap, donate page where families can provide the school with unused cycle equipment (which will be safety checked by the workshop at Clarendon school) and redistributed.
