Walk to School Week
Our story
The school took part in 'Walk to School Week'. The JTAs started the week by visiting each class throughout the school and talking to them about 'Walk to School Week', including explaining the competitions to them. We had a competition running all week, where the children recorded their active journeys and received vouchers for each journey. The vouchers were then put in a box and winners were picked from the box at the end of the week. To encourage staff to take part in 'Walk to School Week' we also had a competition for staff and they received raffel tickets for their active journeys. Each class taught a lesson or had an activity linked to walk to school week. Some of these activities included; Reception and Year 1 had safe crossing workshops, run by year 6. Year 2 created 'Walk to School Week' posters. Year 5 made 'Walk to School Week' themed top trump cards and played them with some of the younger Key Stage 2 children.
