Walk to School Week
About this activity
Suitable for primary school children. Supports the PE and PSHE and Citizenship curriculum.
Walk to School Week is run by the charity Living Streets and is a yearly event held in May to raise awareness of walking and other active ways to travel. Tfl Travel for Life will be running a school's webinar. Find out more about the webinar here
The five-day walking challenge is the perfect activity to run as part of an annual celebration of the walk to school in May, Walk to School Week. Walk to School Week will begin on Monday 20th May 2024.
This year's challenge encourages children to travel actively to school every day of the week. Meeting various magical beings along the way, they will learn about the important reasons to walk or wheel and its benefits for individuals, communities and the planet!
Encourage pupils to make a personal pledge on how many times they intend to work during the week.
You can also use our pedometer challenge record sheet to keep track of how much your pupils are walking.
