Road safety talks
About this activity
Suitable for primary and secondary school pupils.
NB: We’re bringing together all the TfL education programmes, including STARS, under one exciting new umbrella programme called TfL Travel for Life. They will be the same great programmes but with a new name and a new look, easier online process and dedicated support team. STARS for primary schools will be renamed TfL Explorers. STARS for secondary schools will be renamed TfL Pioneers
Organise a talk to teach your pupils about important road safety messages and the Green Cross Code in a fun and engaging way.
Topics might include:
- Behaviour on and around roads
- Distractions
- Concentration of drivers and pedestrians
- Wearing a seat belt
- Crossing between parked cars
- Speed and stopping distances
Speak to your borough officer or Safer Transport Team to discuss road safety talk options for your school.
How to evidence your activity
- Record the pupil feedback during and after the session
- Sign in to TfL Travel for Life to add your story. Explain your activity and include your pupils’ feedback and photographs from the talk(s)
This activity supports the Vision Zero target to eliminate death and serious injuries on London’s streets.
